Chris Hostetler, CFP®, CRPS®, CDAA
PARTNER
Chris became a financial advisor in 2006, first working with advisor Deborah Hining. In 2009 he joined partners Ben and Rusty to merge the two practices that have become Hilltop. Chris had entered financial services just after college, but his education was in the liberal arts – he is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a BA in Journalism and a minor in Chinese.
In his first financial services role, at the State Employees’ Credit Union of North Carolina, he studied for and passed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® exam. Although he was not yet an advisor, Chris found his calling to the life-changing impact of financial planning through the CFP® education. Chris is also a Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist℠ (CRPS®) and Certified Digital Asset Advisor (CDAA). He heads Hilltop’s client communications and online marketing, including the Hilltop Views blog.
Chris lives in Raleigh with his wife, Lori, and children, Nathan and Emily. Chris has served on the board of the Financial Planning Association of the Triangle, including stints as President and as Pro Bono Director. When not in the office, he enjoys cheering on the Tar Heels, picking guitar, and tackling obstacle course races.
